Soapsack Is Here!!!!!

I received my Soapsack in the mail a couple of days ago and was so happy that it had finally arrived.

What is Soapsack?

Soapsack is the new edition to the Swapsack family. It is a Bimonthly subscription and for 13.50 a month you get 3-4 soaps as well as occasional body product samples.

I just new what ever was in this sack was going to be awesome. You could smell the contents before
you opened the sack.

The Contents

1. Hawaiian Sunrise
2. Lime Peel Scrub
3. Butt Naked
4. Duafe Naturls Pure African Black Soap

This soap smells amazing. It has a sweet scent with a several hints of tropical fruit. It is a plus to me that the bar of soap isn't colorful but is a Natural colored soap.

This soap is the Hawaiian Sunrise and is said per Swapsack's Marketplace that it will take your senses on Vacation. I know for sure that I will try this soap for the smell alone and the ingredients are also a plus and listed below. They provided in this Soapsack a 4.5 oz bar (full size) valued at 5.05.

Ingredients: Saponified Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Soybean Oil and Hemp Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Water, Fragrance

The soap also as a nice smell. To me it smells like a Sprite. Not bad. I love anything where there is a Citrus as the main ingredient of fragrance and with this soap it has lime essential oil and peel. Citrus is known to kill smells.  This soap is the first soap I will try.

This is the Lime Peel Scrub soap and is said to be packed with Therapeutic Epsom Salt for tons of exfoliation and detoxification. This soap was 3.5 oz and also a full sized bar valued at 4.50.

Ingredients: Saponified Coconut, Palm and Olive Oils infused with Chamomile, Comfrey & Calendula, Water, Epsom Salt, Shea Butter, Beeswax, Lime Peel, Lime Essential Oil

The  color is bright magenta, which makes me hesitant to use it, but the smell of it  is great.

Next up on the line up is Butt Naked which is said to have an amazingly distinct fragrance. I must add that I love the name of this one and as the said the smell of it is as if the soap is telling you to try it. My only issue with the soap is the color. It's bright magenta. I'm sure that I will get past my dislike of the color. Other than that it seems to be a truly amazing soap. This soap is also a 4.5 oz full size bar valued at 5.05.

Ingredients: Saponified Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Soybean Oil and Hemp Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Water, Fragrance, Jojoba Wax Beads, Gel Soap Coloring, Titanium Dioxide

Black soap is great for the skin especially if you have acne.

This is the Duafe Naturals Pure African Black Soap Sample which was included in the soap sack. There isn't much that I can add about it because I don't see it on their website but from experience of using black soap, it is amazing especially when it comes to acne and blemishes. I must also add that it is a very strong soap so I wouldn't recommend that you scrub your face and skin with it and if you have sensitive skin I would use it once every other day.

Overall Thoughts

Despite the circumstances that the owner faced this month, she delivered an amazing introduction Soapsack. The value of the full size products alone 14.60 which is wonderful because the Soapsack is only 13.50 and it includes shipping, so you can't tell me that's not a deal. I hope that Soapsack is a service that is continued in the future.

May Curlkit

I received this Curlkit about two weeks ago and was shocked that I received it but I will post my review on it since I did. Now for those of you that don't know what Curlkit is, Curlkit is a monthly subscription service that offers a different selection of items for Naturals. Every month the Curlkit team picks things from Shampoos to stylers and even hair accessories. This month's box had a special theme for Mother's Day "More Moisture Curlkit"

I thought the cover of this month's Curlkit was really cute and it really went well with the Mother's day theme

This months Curlkit's contents were a little shocking to me this month

This months Curlkit's contents were:
  1. Giovanni Tea Tree Treat Invigorating Conditioner
  2. Giovanni Tea Tree Treat Invigorating Shampoo
  3. ORI Essentials Cleansing Conditioner
  4. Nyah Soap Oatmeal & Honey Natural Soap
  5. Yum Yum Candle Peach Bellini
  6. Bonus Items

This months kit was unlike the others. The tissue in this one and the shredding was a off white color to make the kit a little softer on the inside.

I was really excited to see the Giovanni products. These were deluxe sizes (2oz each). We received both the Giovanni Tea Tree Treat Invigorating Shampoo and Conditioner. As always, Curlkit includes Curly girl friendly products and I checked the ingredients and they look great. Both of the products state that they are suppose to be used to alleviate dry, flaking scalp with organic tea tree botanicals. I love the way tea tree oil feels on the scalp and will be using these next wash day.

This months Curlkit included one full size product. As in April it was another product from ORI. This products is a Cleansing Conditioner. It states that it is an alternative to shampooing and is able to be used daily. I do my wash days once a week and I am not into cowashing my hair. I'm a big fan of good shampoo so I'm not sure if I will be using this one or not.

Seeing a candle in this months Curlkit was a big shocker to me. This candle is made by Yum Yum candles and they offer a range of soy candles. The one included in my Curlkit was a Peach Bellini candle. OMG is all I can say. Although a shock, I actually like the candle. It smells so good. As it states it's a candle you will like to burn.

We got two bonus items this month. In my Curlkit, I received the U R Curly Tight Curl Enhancer. Now I am a big fan of both U R Curly Shampoo and Conditioner, so its great that I have one of their stylers too. My hair is very coily so I'm hoping that this product will offer me a great twist out.

Also I received a Satin Triangle. I have already used this product and I like it. With most scarves, they give you this big square that you are going to fold in half, especially if you have shorter hair like me. So with this satin triangle it was a short cut. It stayed in place and it didn't make hair sweat. It was very light.

Also offered in this kit, which I didn't picture individually, is the Nyah Soap. The Soap provided was the Oatmeal & Honey Natural Soap. Let me say that this soap smells wonderful. I have been big on soaps lately and have never heard of her product before.

Overall Thoughts:

My overall thoughts of this kit was that it was ok. Curlkit Normally spoils us with more than one full size, so I would have liked to see another full size  product in this kit. I will say that I'm happy that they introduced me to products I would have never thought to look at like the candle.

June is the birthday month of the founder of Curlkit and their June Curlkit is said to have contents worth 50.00 and is suppose to have 3 full size products along with deluxe samples. I'm excited about this kit, just the thought alone.

Curlkit Contest Winner

My chances of winning are always slim, so when I received an email from BHM that I won the April Curlkit, I was super happy.

For those of you that don't know what Curlkit is, Curlkit is a monthly subscription that offers Natural hair products. If you are like me and you don't really know what works for your hair, they do all the work for you and offer different Curly girl solutions. In each kit you get a selection of things from shampoos, stylers, hair accessories, etc.

T

This theme for April was Spring for Moisture. If ya'll are like me, hot humid months like Spring and Summer kill my hair. I have the hardest time keeping it moisturized and no matter what I have in my hair it feels as though the sun will just fry it. So I was excited to see that this month was about moisture.

In every Curlkit, it provides a booklet that contains things from products that the Curlkit has and articles form different bloggers and vloggers.

This Month's Contents Were:
  1. Ori Essentials Moisturizing Leave In Conditioner
  2. Ampro Pro Styl Vitamin E Oil
  3. Honey Curls Hair Honey Oil Blend
  4. Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave In
  5. Naturalista Cosmetics Juicy Leave In Conditioner
  6. Amazing Botanicals AloeMInt Spritz
  7. Bonus Items

They offered two full size products in this months Curlkit. ORI Essentials Moisturizing Leave In Conditioner is a new brand. I have never tried their brand before but after smelling it, I'm sure I will try it soon. It is very creamy and my hair loves leave ins. Ampro Pro Styl Vitamin E Oil was a full size product that was offered in a previous Curlkit and I was happy to see it again. I use this oil for my son that has very sensitive skin after he takes a bath and it leaves his skin soft and smells great. I actually ran out of this product and didn't see it in the stores, so it was great to see it in the Curlkit.

This Curlkit also offered four deluxe samples. If you have followed my blog, you know that Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave in gets 5/5 from me. Its light and creamy. I don't really care for the smell that was provided in the kit, but I still love this leave in so it will still be used.

Naturalista Cosmetics Juicy Leave In Conditioner is an item that is new to me. I have heard good things about it. With this item it is pretty high priced but from reviews it seems as though it is worth the money. This product is a little thick looking to me. It looks more like a styler than a leave in. It smells amazing and I will give it a try one day.

Honey Curls Honey Oil Blend is also a product that I have never seen nor heard of before. I'm not a big oil user at least when it comes to my hair but after looking at the list of oils that were in the oil blend, I can't resist using. Also with this month being about moisture, It's a good chance for me to try out the LOC method and I will use this. The oil is thick similar to a castor oil thickness.

Amazing Botanicals AloeMint Spritz is a brand that I have heard of. I really don't use refreshers that often. It really doesn't have a smell to me, but it says that it will soften your hair and my 4 type hair needs anything it can for moisture and softness.

They did include two samples in this months kit. One was the Ampro Pro Style Shine Jam, which is a conditioning Gel in extra Hold and the other was Ampro Pro Styl Silk Edges which we received a full size in a previous Curlkit. I dont use gels that often any more so I gave these away to my mother, but with the Silk Edges, I actually liked it. It laid my edges don't so smooth but I did notice that I couldn't really use it with other products because I caused flakes.

Overall, I am very thankful to have won the April Curlkit. This kit was amazing and I believe that I will enjoy the products they had to offer. I will give a few reviews on the products that I haven't tried soon.

Review: My 4 type hair has not being my best friend lately. The weather here in Georgia has my hair feeling thirsty for moisture. I received the Avalon Organics Deep Moisturizing Conditioner Awapuhi Mango Therapy in my May SwapSack and after using henna for the first time with lemon juice in it to release dyes, it was recommended for me to use a very good moisturizing conditioner. This conditioner was the perfect choice

The smell of this conditioner reminds me of a candy shop. To me it smells like sweet tarts and I love it. The conditioner was thick but I loved it. I applied it to my hair and left in for about 30 minutes before I rinsed it out. I wanted to allow the conditioner to works its magic. Once I rinsed it out, my hair was very soft and the smell lingered in my hair. Even after my hair air dried slightly as I was preparing to style it in sections, my hair was still soft to the touch. Normally my hair dries out quick and is instantly brittle, but no this time.

Purchase: Of course I would. The name of the conditioner speaks for itself. I would have never heard of this brand if it wasn't for SwapSack. So I am very grateful to have got it so I could try it. This product has been added to my staple product shelf.

May Swapsack

Alright. I received my May Swapsack and I was happy that it arrived. For those of you that don't know what Swapsack is, Swapsack is a monthly subscription that provides Natural Hair and Body products monthly. I did a six month Curly Girl Subscription. and I'm done talking here is what I got.

1. Avalon Organics Deep Moisturizing Condtioner Awapuhi Mango Thereapy 14 oz
2. Shea Touch Shearitha Earth Soap Bar
3. aSili Almond Body Butter
4. Cream and Coco CocoMallow CoWash Conditioner Bar
5. Sarenzo Bath & Body On Vacation Foaming Scrub

OMG. Swapsack must have known that I'm having issues with moisture and retaining moisture with my hair. So I was happy to see the Deep Moisturizing Conditioner. This product was 14oz which makes it easy for me to determine if it will actually work for me vs having to squeeze it out of a pack. The smell is very light. Can't wait to try it is all I'm going to say about it. The value of this item is 10.99

I'm not really that into soaps. This is a full size soap. The smell of it to me is like dove and clay. I'm not really feeling the smell at all so it will be a product that I will be giving away. This soap is valued at 5.00.

The almond body butter smells weird to me. I love body butters. I did put a little bit on my skin and it gives it a nice glow. For smell alone, it would be a no buy item for ,e, unless they have it in a different scent. I will be giving it away

This was another product I was excited about the CocoMallow CoWash Conditioner Bar. The smell is like chocolate and marshmallows. I am excited about being able to try it. Call me lazy but I prefer my products to already be mixed and ready for use.  The value of this item is 8.50

On Vacation smells so amazing. As soon as I smelled I for happy. I don't really care for sugar scrubs but I'm going to try this product for smell alone. I have to talk to Sarenzo Bath & Body Owner and find out if she has this in a body butter or an oil.

My overall review of my SwapSack is that I thought it was decent. I liked three of the five items. I also like that the value of my SwapSack is 16.50 and that the Conditioner and the CoWash alone is 2.00 more than the value of my sack. So I got my value worth. Can't wait to see what's in store for June.

May Regular Bulu box

The mail has arrived and my first Bulu Box has arrived today. Bulu is a vitamin, supplement and general health box that contains 4-5 products samples for 10.00 a month. So I had informed a lot of people that I wanted to started looking out for my overall health and I thought this box would be a start. Also another thing that I like about the box is that it offers it's subscribers the opportunity to earn reward points. Those reward points can be used to purchase full size products of things that were featured in the box and also to get another box. So I really don't want to talk to much. Let's get into the box.

Sorry about the picture being sideways. I'll fix as soon as I can figure it out.

First I love the box itself with encouraging quotes like "Do something today your future self will thank you" and "It's always too early to quit" it makes me motivated and happy to start thinking about my health

In the front of the box it contains a booklet to tell you of the items that were included.

This months box included five samples
1. Fit 'n Crisp by Promax
2. Piantiva AllerDX
3. Fitmixer Amino
4. NeoCell Beauty Bursts
5. Artisana Superfood Nut Butter
Looks yummy. With this bar it is only 140 calories. It has 13grams of protein and it states that it has no artificial sweeteners or high frutose corn syrup. A full box of 12  bars is $19.50 .
As stated in the Bulu Box guide this products is suppose to boost your immune systems  by strengthening kidney health and calming over active kidney function. Full size product is 21.95 for 60 Vcaps

This products is suppose to help with your muscle recovery.  It is a powder that you mix in your water and can be used before, during and after a workout. Full size product for a canister.
This is a Cashew Butter that has additives to help suppress your appetite. Full size product is 34.99 for 20 pack.

This products is suppose to promote smoother and more radiant hair and nails. Full size is 15.95 for 60 chews

My overall review on the box is that I like the concept on it. I do enjoy that it is providing samples to try before buying a full size product and love the fact that they offer you an opportunity to get rewards to redeem on full size products. However, I can't justify the price of the box itself. I think for the price that it should have included at least 1-2 full size products. If they did that, I would be an happy subscriber.

Reviews on these products will be posted at a later time.

First Graze Box

I've been waiting forever to get my hands on a Graze subscription and I was finally able to get one. Graze is a subscription service that offers healthy snack options that are in small proportions. With Graze, the boxes are $5.00 and you can choose how you want to be billed: once a month, bi-weekly, or weekly. Me I chose the bi-weekly to start but after these boxes I will need to get one every week.

Here is my first Graze box

Contents of my first box
blanched almonds, jumbo raisins, dark chocolate buttons and cherries
rustic rolled oat flapjack with mixed seeds and dried fruits
3. my Thai
sweet chili sauce with baked soy bites
cheese croutons, tomato, basil and oregano almonds and mini tomato bread sticks

Review
Oh My Goodness. Everything was great. My favorite was the My Thai. Although it sounds weird, the sauce is great. I wanted to put that on some wings. The soy bites where crunchy. It was great to me.

The Pomodoro Rustichella was amazing also. I must admit that the my Thai and the pomodoro tied to me. I loved the tomato flavor and it left me craving more.

The Yin and Yang was ok. I'm not a raisin or cherry lover nor fan of Dark Chocolate but to my surprise the dark chocolate wasn't bitter. It had a nice sweet taste and I love almonds. Eating it together balanced out the taste.

Although this seems to be a Graze favorite, I thought they were ok. They would've been better to me if they weren't so sweet.

April Swapsack

I know I'm a little late to post but this is going to be a quick and simple, straight to the point post. I wanted to share what was in my first Swapsack since the May Swapsack will be going out soon.

Swapsack Contents
1. Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea Cleansing CoWash $8.99
2. Bakeshop Butters Snickerdoodle $7.00
3. Kissed by Nature Green Mint Cold Pressed Soap $4.50
4. Hairveda Sitrinillah Deep Conditioner
5. Shany Nail Polish $1.99
6. Giovanni Towelettes

For the curly girl subscription I have, it is 16.50. The things that were in my swapsack this month, in value equaled more than I actually paid for the swapsack. I love the fact that they include both hair and body products. I'm being introduced to new things.

Although I was excited about my swapsack, I realized I was only going to try the deep conditioner. I may also try the Kissed by Nature Green Mint soap. I was super happy about seeing the Bake Shop Butters but not liking the scent. I actually swapped it. I also swapped the CoWash and put the nail polish in a birthday gift. I will be doing a review on the deep conditioner and the soap soon.

I'm Back

To all the Naturalistas that followed my blog in the past, I'm back. I had a lot of life changing events that incurred and was not able to talk to you all as much as I wanted to but thank you all that continued to speak with me and follow me other ways. I appreciate your support.

While I've been gone I have talked to some amazing people and wonder new/upcoming business owners and have several products that I have been reviewing. I have been also trying to stop buying so many hair products and let the PJism die, the hair product portion has faded but I officially love natural body products also.

So with that being said, I can't wait to share new findings and introduce you to the items that I love and worked for me and my still none biased reviews.
